The EU wine industry is facing one of the most impactful labelling reforms in decades.
As of December 8, 2023, under EU Regulation 2021/2117, all wines and aromatized wines marketed in the EU must include:
These updates are part of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the Farm to Fork Strategy, focused on improving transparency, food safety, and informed consumer choices.
🔔 Important: These changes apply to everyone—from boutique organic wineries to large exporters. Compliance is not optional.
Here’s what wineries now need to display on the bottle or digitally:
You must declare the following values:
These can be shown on the physical label or digitally (e.g., via QR code).
All ingredients must be listed in descending order by weight. Allergenic substances (e.g., sulfites) must still be printed directly on the bottle.
Thanks to Article 40a of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013, most mandatory information can be shared electronically—except allergens.
QR codes (especially GS1 Digital Link formats) are the most efficient and future-proof way to do this.
At Fluxy. One, we help wineries turn regulatory headaches into digital innovation.

All from one dynamic QR code.
🗣️ According to Article 15 of EU Regulation 1169/2011, all mandatory information—whether printed or digital—must be available in a language easily understood by consumers in the target market.
🌍 That’s why Fluxy. One automatically translates your digital labels into all 24 official EU languages, ensuring compliance and multilingual accessibility.
With the EU producing 63% of the world’s wine and accounting for 70% of global wine exports, non-compliance isn't an option.
Ignoring these rules could lead to:
Even non-EU markets like the U.S. are watching closely—similar regulations may be introduced globally.
